Joe Smith has spent over a decade working with his hands and honing his craft in woodworking and remodeling. He got his start at eighteen on a construction crew, where he worked while attending Saint Anselm College.
At twenty-three, Joe traveled to Durán, Ecuador with the intention of teaching English. Through an unexpected opportunity, he helped establish a small woodworking shop in the neighborhood of Una Sola Fuerza (“One United Force", from which USF's name is derived. He spent three years teaching adolescents the fundamentals of woodworking. It was there that Joe not only deepened his understanding of woodworking and carpentry, but truly fell in love with the craft.
Since returning to New England, Joe has continued to refine his skills and grow his business, specializing in wall paneling, interior trim, built-ins, mantels, kitchens, and baths. He takes pride in blending time-tested techniques with modern tools to create spaces that feel both beautiful and lasting.
For Joe, every project is personal. He believes great craftsmanship comes from care, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to make a home feel special.
